Arranged in the coffin lid (1) is a receiving aperture (1.1), into which is inserted an outer pipe (2) connecting the inner space (1) of the coffin to the outer space (A). An inner pipe (3) is arranged coaxially within the outer pipe (2). The outer pipe (2), intended for exhalation, possesses an exhalation valve (5) at its upper end, while the inner pipe (3), intended for inhalation, has an inhalation valve (6) at its upper end. The outer pipe (2) is fitted into the receiving aperture (1.1) in a manner such as to be capable of being drawn out. Via a pull cord (14) with an actuating handle (14.1) signalling devices (11, 12) arranged on the top of the device can be switched on. When the device is drawn out, the actuating handle (14.1) can be drawn into the outer pipe (2-2.1). When the outer pipe (2) is drawn out, a closure lid (8) which is arranged on the inside of the coffin lid (1) closes under spring pressure. <IMAGE>
