The invention relates to a covering hood for galvanising pans, consisting of a hood-like element which is to be arranged above the pan, is open at its underside, the interior space of which is closed at the upper side by an upper boundary wall and at the periphery by side walls and front boundary walls, and which can be opened and closed in order to introduce and remove a workpiece. The invention is distinguished in that the hood-like element is constructed in at least two parts by division in a plane running perpendicularly to the upper side or underside, and in that the at least two parts of the hood-like element are each pivotable about an axis running parallel to the plane and movable in the direction of this axis.
