COOLING STRUCTURE FOR BEARING LUBRICATING OIL IN POWER GENERATION WATER WHEEL

PURPOSE:To facilitate maintenance and inspection by immersing one edge part of a heat pipe into the lubricating oil in a bearing box and arranging the other edge part into the air cooled region outside the bearing box. CONSTITUTION:Lubricating oil 7 is stored in the bearing box 3 of a main shaft 1. A number of heat radiation fins 13 are installed onto the upper edge side of a number of heat pipes 11 which penetrate through the upper plate of the bearing box 3. Further, the heat receiving fins 12 on the other edge part are immersed into the lubricating oil 7. The inside of a duct 15 forms an air cooled region where the edge part of the heat pipe 11 is air-cooled by the ventilation of the outside air. Therefore, the need of cooling water coil, etc. can be avoided.
