PURPOSE:To enable to read and write in all directions to be performed at high speed in a single action of access, by performing the arithmetic processing of an access address on a memory chip corresponding to the access in crisscrossed directions, and performing the rotate-processing of connecting relation between each memory chip and a data signal line by performing bit shift. CONSTITUTION:At the time of designating the access in a vertical direction by an access direction designating means, an address arithmetic part 3 adds prescribed different defined values at every memory chip corresponding to the length of the address at that time in a horizontal direction by a length setting means, and generates the access address for each of the memory chips 80-87. Also, a shift control means (rotate part 10) performs the bit shift by a prescribed number of shift corresponding to the address at the time of designating the address in the vertical direction, and at the time of designating the address in the horizontal direction, performs the bit shift of an access data by the prescribed number of shift set in advance corresponding to the address and the length in the horizontal direction. In such way, it is possible to shorten an access time.
