The large-bale press for the production of rectangular bales of cut stalk crop has a pick-up device and a conveying device for the stalk crop as well as a collecting space, a tying device for the finished bale and a bale-shaping device. The latter consists of a press rake which extends essentially over the width of the collecting space and which is arranged above the inlet channel for the stalk crop, in such a way that it can be raised by the stalk crop conveyed into the collecting space and can be pivoted in the raised position.
