PURPOSE:To switch a call connected through other communication network to the connection through a desired communication network as soon as a connecting path is set through the desired communication network by providing a vacancy supervising means and a connecting switching means. CONSTITUTION:In a telephone exchange network composed of communication networks 3 and 4 and exchanges 1 and 2, a vacancy supervising means 100 and a connecting switching means 200 are provided at the exchange 1. During the connection with other exchange 2 through the communication network 3, the means 100 supervises the vacancy condition of a connecting path at the section of other exchange 2 through the communication network 4. When a vacant connecting path is detected to the communication network 4, the means 200 sets the connecting path through the communication network 4 and switches the call set through the communication network 3 to the connecting path set through the communication network 4. Thus, as soon as the connecting path can be set through the desired communication network, the call set through other communication network can be switched through the desired communication network and the desired communication network can be used as soon as possible and quickly.
