The invention describes a method for two-dimensional suppression of clutter signals of all types in the case of a radar receiver for a coherent radar which moves on a platform and has an active antenna array for detecting moving targets with an adaptive processor, in the case of which the favourable properties of the optimal processor are maintained but (as a result of a pretransformation operation using characteristic vectors of the characteristic values of the clutter covariance matrix as auxiliary channels for interference suppression) the complexity of computation operations and the computation time are reduced to such an extent that practical implementation becomes possible.
