PURPOSE:To make it possible to regenerate the external dimensions of a molded item faithful to the master form and improve the final state of its coated surface by a method wherein synthetic resin is molded by casting under vacuum or pressure with a mold, onto the uneven surface of which synthetic resin-based coating is applied directly or through releasing agent. CONSTITUTION:After coating is applied onto the respective uneven surfaces 2 of a split mold 1, the uneven surfaces 2 of the mold 1 are faced to each other and fixed together with clamps 4. Next, the mold 1 is arranged in a vacuum tank 1 and casting resin 6 such as polyurethane resin or the like, the water content and the like in which have been vacuum-extracted and vacuum-deaerated in advance, is stirred and mixed under vacuum and, after that, poured in the mold 1 with a pouring cup 7. In this case, by heating the mold in advance up to a proper temperature so as to accelerate the effect of the resin pouring in the mold, a molded item with favorable physical properties is obtained. After that, the vacuum deaeration is continued in proportion to the working life of the casting resin 6 and finally the pressure in the vacuum tank 5 is brought back to the atmospheric pressure in order to set the resin. Further, in this case, in order to accelerate the setting of the resin, the mold 1 is preferably heated up to a proper temperature after the removal of the mold 1 from the vacuum tank 5.
