PURPOSE:To perform the seating of a valve safely so as to increase the reliability, by providing a volume chamber whose volume can be varied and which is ramified from an oil path of a hydraulic valve gear for driving a suction and exhaust valve. CONSTITUTION:When a follower 2 is driven by the rotation of a cam 1, a plunger 3 causes the pressure in a hydraulic chamber 32 to be raised. Then this pressure is transmitted to a hydraulic pipe 9 to increase the pressure in a valve side hydraulic chamber 62 and a plunger 6 allows a valve 5 to lift against a spring 7. The volume chamber 10 is attached to a part of the hydraulic system of this arrangement, for example, to the hydraulic pipe 9. The volume chamber 10 consists of a cylinder 101 and a piston 102 slidably inserted therein that can be moved by a handle 12 so that the volume of the volume chamber 10 may be varied. Thus, the volume of an oil in the combined system including the hydraulic chambers 32, 62, the hydraulic pipe 9 and the volume chamber 10. |
