<p>An electric resistance iron of the so-called "cordless type", having a separate resting and electrical supply base (2), which can be connected to the electric supply mains and is provided with electrical connection means (18) which are able to couple with corresponding members (9-11) of the iron (1) in order to allow the connection to the electric supply mains to occur when such iron is placed in a previously designed rest position on said base (2), wherein said electrical connection members (9-11) of the iron (1) are arranged within a cavity (9) obtained in the lower face of its back part (7), the base (2) is provided with stop means (22) arranged at a position placed at a higher level with respect to the rest surface (13, 15) of said iron (1), said surface (13,15) comprising a guiding and supporting chute (15) sloping downwards and towards said stop means (22); and said electrical connection means (18) borne by said base (2) are arranged at a position adjacent to the lower part of said chute (15) so that said iron (1) when is rested on said chute (15) with the sole or plate (4) facing the stop means (22) has a tendency to reach by the action of gravity a stable rest position wherein the iron sole or plate (4) rests against the stop means (22) and its connection members (9-11) couple with the corresponding connection means (18) of the base (2).</p> |
