1384056 Water soluble reactive monoazo dyes IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 25 April 1972 [29 April 1971] 12121/71 Addition to 1271226 Heading C4P New water-soluble reactive dyes of formula wherein A represents the residue of a diazo component of the benzene or naphthalene series, Z represents a hydrogen atom or an optionally substituted alkyl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or heterocyclic radical, T<SP>1</SP> represents a hydrogen atom, an optionally substituted alkyl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or heterocyclic radical or a hydroxyl, cyano, -COR<SP>3</SP>, -COOR<SP>3</SP> or -CONR<SP>3</SP>R<SP>4</SP> group in which R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> each independently represents a hydrogen atom or an optionally substituted alkyl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or heterocyclic radical or the group -NR<SP>3</SP>R<SP>4</SP> represents the radical of a 5 or 6 membered heterocyclic ring, T<SP>2</SP> represents a hydrogen atom, an optionally substituted alkyl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or heterocyclic radical or a cyano, -COR<SP>3</SP>, -COOR<SP>3</SP> or -CONR<SP>3</SP>R<SP>4</SP> group in which R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> have the meanings already stated, X represents =N-, Y represents chlorine or bromine, Q<SP>1</SP> represents oxygen, sulphur or -NR-wherein R represents hydrogen or lower alkyl, Q<SP>2</SP> represents oxygen, sulphur or a direct link, R<SP>2</SP> represents an optionally substituted alkyl radical having from 2 to 18 carbon atoms or a cycloalkyl, aralkyl or aryl radical, R<SP>1</SP> is a divalent hydrocarbon radical such that R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> together contain at least 8 carbon atoms, n is at least 1, the dyes being free from NO 2 groups, are prepared by condensing a halo-pyrimidine or -triazine with an appropriate aminoazo dye and a hydroxy-, mercapto- or amino-compound. The dyes are used to colour cellulose, or preferably natural and synthetic polyamide, fibres by the usual reactive dyeing processes in yellow shades. |
