摘要 Until now, two coils (12, 13) through which current flows in the opposite direction and which are arranged on opposite sides of the melt region (11) have been used for non-touching positioning of a sample (10), which is to be melted, in a weightless state. The disadvantage is that the sample (10) is located at a point at which the magnetic flux density assumes a minimum, so that the efficiency of the electrical energy supplied is low. According to the invention, a further coil (17) is arranged between the first coils (12, 13), surrounds the melt region (11) and acts as a heating coil. The heating coil is energised at a frequency f2, which is different from the frequency f1 of the first coils (12, 13). In consequence, positioning and heating are decoupled from one another. The device is used especially in the context of research into nucleation of melts in weightless conditions. <IMAGE>
