PURPOSE:To obtain a traveling air cooler which can be utilized easily when a large capacity of air cooling is needed temporarily, by mounting to equip a truck with an icy heat accumulating tank storing a cooled and solidified refrigerant and an air conditioner which produces cooling air to supply it to an object zone where air cooling is needed. CONSTITUTION:A diffuser grille 7, prepared and delivered to a spot, is fitted temporarily to a window or the like of a room to be air-cooled, and it is connected to the outlet of a truck-mounted air conditioner 3 by a flexible duct 8 covered with a heat insulating material. Under this condition, an air cooling operation is performed in such a manner that a circulating pump 6 and the fan 9 of an air conditioner 3 are operated, using 100V of commercial alternating current at the spot as an electric power source, and cooling air produced by the air conditioner 3 is supplied to the room to be air-cooled, using a regenerative cold heat in an icy heat accumulating tank 2 storing a refrigerant of mixed phases of solid and liquid in the sherbet state as a cold heat source. By this method a small truck is enough for use, delivery and installation at the spot are easy, while large air-cooling capacity can be provided.
