PURPOSE:To reduce light loss and to improve the reliability of a joined part by irradiating the neighborhood of the surface of an optical member to be joined with electromagnetic wave to increase the absorption of light, and irradiating further with light having high density power to fuse the part and to integrate the body of the optical member. CONSTITUTION:The absorption for light of the surface to be joined is increased by irradiating only the neighborhood of the one or both surfaces of an optical member to be joined and fixed with electromagnetic waves (ultraviolet rays, X-rays, gamma-rays, etc.). Then, said optical members are brought into contact with each other, and the contacting part is irradiated with light having high density power such as laser, etc. Thus, the contacting part is melted and integrated by fusion.
