1298826 Inserting coils in stators BALZER & DROLL KG 11 Dec 1969 [11 April 1969] 60605/69 Heading B3A A device for placing pre-wound coils 2a-2f into grooves 11a-11f of a stator 10, comprises a stripper member 1 having peripheral teeth 4 aligned with the stator grooves, finger members 5, 7 located between the teeth one finger being located on either side of each tooth on which is located a coil, and the fingers 5 being fixed to the stripper member. The fingers 7 are fixed to a base, Fig. 1 (not shown), and are slidable within the slots of the member 1. The stripper member has a rounded upper portion, which as it is moved through the stator bore forces the coils 2a-2f into the grooves 11a-11f respectively. In an alternative embodiment all the finger members are fixed to the stripper member. The provision of the fingers 5 moving with the stripper reduces pinching of the coils as they are inserted into the stator grooves. |
