PURPOSE:To prevent internal short-circuit caused by fallen active substance during vibration and charging and discharging processes so that an enclosed type lead storage battery with a long life is obtained by inserting a larger separator than the size of an electrode plate into a groove formed at the frame to securely separate a space between positive electrode and negative electrode using a separator whose peripheral part is fixed. CONSTITUTION:Two frame bodies 1', for use in positive electrode and negative electrode with L-type cross sectional shape comprising resins such as ABS and the like, are in combination to form a frame body 1 and simultaneously forming a groove, to which the peripheral part of a separator 7 is inserted. A glass fiber mat-type separator 7 is wider than positive and negative plates 5, 6 and peripheral part thereof is inserted into the groove of the frame body 1. The frame body 1', lead alloy sheet 3 or 3', side plate 2 or 2' are previously glued using hot-melt adhesives or epoxy-type adhesives, and after each positive and negative electrode plates 5, 6 are contained inside the two frame bodies, a separator 7, which is sized larger than the electrode plate, is fixed between both frame bodies on the electrode plate. By the arrangement, minute short-circuit is prevented and an enclosed type lead storage battery with a long life is obtained. |
