PURPOSE:To remarkably reduce a crash accident between a magnetic head and a magnetic disk and to obtain a device with high reliability, by applying the impregnated baking process of lubricant on all of the rails which support the rolling bearing of a carriage and form sliding plane. CONSTITUTION:The carriage 6, on which the magnetic head 23, the rolling bearing 26, an a coil 24 being mounted, is supported with a main rail 19 mounted on a housing space 4 through rail supports 17 and 18, a fixed rail 20, and a preload rail 21 through the rolling bearing 26. In this case, since the impregnated baking process of the lubricant is applied on all of the main rail 19, the fixed rail 20, and the preload rail 21 which support the rolling bearing 26 of the carriage 6, sliding friction force due to rolling and sliding friction between the outer ring of the rolling bearing 26 of the carriage 6 and the rails 19-21 can be reduced, and no metallic friction powder is generated, and the incidence of the crash accident between the magnetic head and a magnetic disk group can be remarkably reduced.
