The envelope has one or more gummed strips (5,6) on closing flaps (3,4). It is provided by perforations to aid opening. One closing flap having a pull-tongue (7). The perforation is provided in the material of the front and rear of the envelope, near the place where the flap with the tongue is gummed. When closed, the perforation is covered over by the respective flap. The perforation is zig-zag (8) in shape to enable easy opening without damage. The flap prevents dirt and damp penetrating to the interior of the envelope.
