PURPOSE:To prevent the bad influence of the electric wave hindrance onto the periphery, propagation of fire in fire accident, etc. by separating an electric discharge machine into a working unit and a working bank unit and surrounding the installation position for the working tank unit by the wall members which possess at least the fireproof function or the electric wave hindrance preventing function. CONSTITUTION:Working is carried out by installing a working unit 1 or 1A into the working tank unit 2 or 2A in a working chamber A. The working chamber A is surrounded by wall members 60 on four sides including a door 61, and also the ceiling is surrounded by plate members. These materials are made of the electric conductive plate members consisting of the metal plates, etc. made of aluminium and iron, and the leak outside of the electric waves generated by the electric discharge is prevented. Further, the propagation of fire to the periphery on fire accident is prevented by using the plate members made of fireproof material. Further, these materials are laminated or the whole functions are realized by only one plate member, and the electric wave hindrance preventing function and fireproof function are provided.
