PURPOSE:To quickly and stably search an address by using a prepared information group to detect a rotational speed in accordance with time information in response to a scanning command and driving a disk and moving a pickup and driving the disk with detected information if the distance from a designated position is shorter than the distance corresponding to a prescribed time. CONSTITUTION:In response to the scanning command, a controller 40 detects rotational speed information corresponding to time information indicating the recording position from a table in a ROM. The rotational speed is detected by the FG signal of a motor 1 and is compared with the table value to instruct a spindle servo 27 to adjust the speed, and a slider servo 6 is instructed to move a slider bearing a pickup 3 in the radial direction of a disk 2. The time when the distance between the detection point of the pickup and the designated position is shorter than a prescribed value is discriminated by the output of a separating circuit 26 to execute a routine just before the scanning command. By this operation, the rotational speed is controlled to a designated reproducing rotational speed independently of a horizontal synchronizing signal (h) from the disk when the scanning command is issued, and the speed control of the motor 1 based on the signal (h) is restarted to terminate scanning when the pickup reaches the scan destination by jump.
