PURPOSE:To easily produce a connecting rod having an incorporated bearing part by preforming a connecting rod with a high strength powdery metal and a bearing part with a powdery bearing metal, combining them and carrying out forging or sintering. CONSTITUTION:A preform 1' for a conventional connecting rod 1 is formed by a proper means with powders of an iron-base metal as the material of the rod 1 and a preform 2' for a tubular bearing part 2 is similarly formed with powder of a soft bearing metal such as Pb, Sn, Cu or Al. The preforms 1', 2' are combined and forged and/or sintered to produce a connecting rod 1 having a bearing part 2. Thus, the number of parts is reduced and the attachment of the connecting rod 1 to a crankshaft is easily automatized.
