PURPOSE:To accurately meet needs of individual users by reading data stored in an IC card and adding or changing functions of a camera based on this data. CONSTITUTION:An IC card 4 on which required programs or data are written is inserted and set to a holder 5 provided on the front of a camera body. Three kinds of cards, for example, an exposure program card (type A and type B), a mode set changing card, and a card for demonstration are prepared as the IC card 4, and the user inserts and sets the IC card 4 on demand. Thus, functions are added or changed to meet various needs of users and usable functions only in the camera side are preliminarily reduced as much as possible to simplify the camera.
