PURPOSE:To remove the dust stuck to a magnetic head by connecting or disconnecting a speed control signal to or from a motor in accordance with the high level or the low level of the control signal from a higher device. CONSTITUTION:When a cleaning disk 5 is set to a magnetic storage device and a control signal 11 from a controller 1 is set to the low level, a transistor TR Q2 is turned off and a TR Q1 is turned on to rotate a motor 4. A speed control signal 21 is supplied to a motor control circuit 2 to input a signal 22 to the terminal (b) of a motor driving circuit 3, and this signal is given to the base of the TR Q1 through a resistance R1, and the power source of the motor 4 is controlled to keep the rotation number constant. When the control signal 11 is switched to the high level, the TR Q2 is turned on and the TR Q1 is turned off to stop the motor 4. A cleaning plate 5 rotates and stops repeatedly when the controller 1 repeatedly sets the control signal to the low level and the high level, and the dust stuck to magnetic heads 61 and 62 is removed by the action of contacting resistance of magnetic heads 61 and 62 to the cleaning plate 5 because this contacting resistance is maximum for switching from stop to rotation.
