<p>PURPOSE:To prevent any damage to a roller or the like due to reopening in leaving plural jammed sheets stayed intact there from occurring, by setting up a jam detector to be operated by the jammed sheet itself. CONSTITUTION:At the time of separating a sheet S with a separate claw 3a or 3b, if a jam occurs, one end A of an arm 5b of a jam detector 5 is pressed down by a jam deforming part of a jammed sheet S, and the other end B is separated from a position between light emitting and receiving parts of a photosensor 5a whereby this photosensor 5a comes on, transmitting it to a control part C. And, this control part C displays jam occurrence and its position to an operating unit of a copying machine, while it makes the copying machine so a not to operate even if a copy start button is pressed. With this, an operator is able to easily remove the jammed sheet S without perplexing its position, pressing a reset button, and to reopens the copying machine. Thus, any damage to a roller or the like due to reopening in leaving plural jammed sheets stayed intact there is preventable.</p> |
