The subject of this invention are new 4, 5, 5-dihydro-3, 3, 3-difenyl-4-hydrocarbynolaminomethylfuran-2(3H) ols which have a formula II, where R is lower alkyl, lower cycloalkyl, or phenyl-lower alkyl group. These formula II based compounds are intermediate products when preparing pharmacologically active 4-(4-disubstitute piperidinylalkyl)-3,3-diphenyl-2-pyrrolidinons. This invention is also concerned with a method of making formula II accordant compounds by making formula III accordant α,α-diphenyl-α-(1-carbon-3-ametidinyl)acetonitrile react with sulphuric acid, where R in formula III means the same as above.<IMAGE>
