PURPOSE:To obtain a resin composition having improved moldability and impact resistance, by blending a resin composition prepared by impregnating and polymerizing a vinyl aromatic compound with a ring opening polymer of a norbornene derivative having a polar group. CONSTITUTION:A composition obtained by blending (A) a polyphenylene ether having 0.15-0.65, preferably 0.30-0.60 intrinsic viscosity in chloroform as a solvent at 30 deg.C with (B) a resin composition prepared by adding a vinyl aromatic compound and polymerization initiator to an aqueous polymer suspension of a (co)polymer obtained by ring opening (co)polymerization of a norbornene derivative having a polar group, e.g. ester, carboxyl, nitrile, etc., in the presence of a metathesis catalyst, preferably a copolymer of the norbornene derivative having the carboxyl group and the norbornene derivative having the ester group. The amounts of the components are within the range of 10-97wt% component (A) and 90-3wt% component (B).
