Filter press plate - in reinforced plastic to reduce labour involved in cake removal

The plate comprises a surrounding metal frame, pref. in an Al alloy, with a central panel of synthetic plastics material. The panel may be of laminated construction comprising layers of glass fibre and a polyester resin moulded directly to the surrounding metal frame. The plate is only 25% of the weight of comparable iron and steel plates or 40% of the weight of a light alloy metal plate.
