发明名称 CURRENT SUPPLY RECORDING ELECTRODE HEAD
摘要 PURPOSE:To keep high resolving power by increasing the number of gradations of area gradation per one dot and to regenerate a high quality image, by constituting a recording electrode of laminated divided electrode layers and changing the current applied to each of the electrode layers to perform the supply of a current through the laminated cross-section thereof. CONSTITUTION:A recording electrode 3 consists of a plurality of, for example, two electrode layers 5, 6 formed of a metal foil made of W, Cr or Mo having high abrasion resistance and the electrode layers 5, 6 are laminated and superposed to an insulating substrate 2 in a state electrically insulated from each other by an adhesive layer 8 composed of an insulating material and arranged in a stripe form by etching technique. The output of a driver 11 and a switch 10 are controlled by a gradation circuit 12. When the output of the driver 11 is high, the switch 10 is turned ON and printing is performed by two electrode layers 5, 6 and, when the output of the driver 11 is made lower, the switch 10 is turned OFF and printing is performed only by the electrode layer 5. As mentioned above, the area of the current supply part of the recording electrode 3 can be changed corresponding to the output current of the driver 11 and, at the time of the regeneration of a small dot, that is, even when the output of the driver 11 is low, the current density in a current supply heat generating layer 15 can be kept sufficiently high.
