摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the adhesiveness between thermal transfer image receiving paper and a heat-meltable transfer ink sheet, to perform good lap-recording and to enhance color reproducibility, by forming a plastic deformable layer between a base film and an ink receiving layer and absorbing an ink buildup part already subjected to transfer recording by the plastic deformation of the plastic deformable layer. CONSTITUTION:A plastic deformable layer 3b is formed on a base film 3a and an ink receiving layer 3c is formed on the plastic deformable layer 3b to constitute thermal transfer image receiving paper 3. The plastic deformable layer consists of a binder resin B and a filler F and has a foamed structure having numberless gas bubbles. The plastic deformable layer 3b is plastically deformed by the pressing force between a head and a platen and perfectly absorbs the buildup part of the recording ink 21 of the first color and enhances the adhesiveness between a heat-meltable transfer ink sheet 2 and the thermal transfer image receiving paper already subjected to recording at the time of recording on and after the second color, and good lap recording can be performed. As the binder resin of the ink receiving layer 3c, it is necessary to use a resin having the good thermal compatibility with heat-meltable transfer ink 3b and SBR is especially used.
