PURPOSE:To prevent copying paper from being stained by a separation claw and to improve the performance of a copying machine by providing an electric feeding means which charges at least the periphery of the front end part of the separation claw to the same polarity with toner. CONSTITUTION:A separation claw support member 2 is arranged nearby the outer periphery of a photosensitive drum 1. The front end part of this separation claw support member 2 has a projecting shaft 2a and the L-shaped separation claw 4 is supported pivotally and rotatably. This separation claw 4 is made of a conductive material which is reduced in insulation resistance by adding a conductive material such as carbon to a resin material and an insulating member 3 is interposed between the shaft 2a and separation claw 4. Consequently, the separation claw support member 2 and separation claw 4 are insulated to prevent charges from moving to the separation claw support member 2. Further, the periphery of the front end part of the separation claw 4 is tapered and so arranged as to abut on the outer periphery of the photosensitive drum 1. Further, the separation claw 4 is connected to the plus electrode of a power source through a switch 6 and the switch 6 and power source 5 constitute the electric feeding means. Consequently, toner is prevented from sticking on the front end part of the separation claw.
