The device consists of a container (1) receiving a treatment liquid with an aperture which can be closed by a screw cap lid (7) and contains a porous liquid application head (6). The brush (11) assigned to the screw cap lid (7) for cleaning the surface prior to application of the liquid is to be reusable when one device has been used up and is to be adapted to the new device. The solution according to the invention consists in that the brush base (9) is designed in the shaped of a cap and can be plugged onto the cap lid (7) and held there by frictional engagement.
