PURPOSE:To improve color forming property, raw preservability and the stability of a developed color image and to satisfy other conditions to be possessed, by using a specific ether compound as an electron acceptive compound. CONSTITUTION:In a recording material utilizing such a phenomenon that a leuco dye forms a color through the contact with an electron acceptive compound, a high-molecular compound having an alkoxysalicylic acid skeletal in the side chain thereof is used and represented by a compound having an ether group in the side chain thereof such as resorcinic acid or dihydroxynaphthalenecarboxylic acid. Said compound pref. is represented by formula I (wherein R1 is pref. a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and R2 is pref. a group represented by formula II and a concrete alkoxysalicylic acid skeletal is represented by formula III). |
