BALANCER DEVICE FOR V-TYPE 8-CYLINDER ENGINE

PURPOSE:To reduce rolling moment due to the pressure of a piston side by offsetting eccentrically the rotary center of a balancer shaft rotating with two times of the rotational frequency of a crankshaft relative to the center of crankshaft. CONSTITUTION:A crankshaft 10 is of 180 deg. arrangement so that the four crank throws exist on the identical plane with plane symmetry. A balancer shaft 20 is journalled around the balancer center Ob offset eccentrically from the center Oc of crankshaft in the position of deflection angle phi and length l. The balancer shaft 20 is driven by gears or chain for example with two times the rotational frequency of crankshaft in the same direction as crankshaft 10. Thus, the secondary unbalanced component of crankshaft 10 is eliminated by the balancer shaft 20 and a balancer weight 22.
