PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR CLEANING AND UTILIZING WASTE WATERS

Method and equipment are intended mainly for the treatment and utilisation of liquid manure, agricultural and food processing waste water. The waste water is strained to separate it into concentrated and diluted phases, which are used separately or in conjunction, e.g. for restoring soil fertility. The dilute component is filtered through an open cell carbamide-formaldehyde foam. The filtrate is utilised directly or stored, and the spent filter medium is also utilised, on its own or mixed with additives. It is spread into the soil directly or after a period of storage. The equipment comprises the following: strainer structure containing open cell carbamide-formaldehyde foam. The separator structure is place downstream of a coarse separator (pre-strainer) unit. The separator structure is also connected to various fluid handling and storage units and in some cases, mixing units.
