PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a radial crack, by a method wherein reinforcing fibre of a first annular body on the top land side is aligned so that the direction of its length is coincided with the peripheral direction of the top land part. CONSTITUTION:Fibre-reinforced composite annular bodies C1 and C2 are formed to a top land part 2 and a ring band 3 of a piston. In the first annular body C1, its reinforcing fibre F1 is aligned so that the direction of its length is coincided with the circumferential direction of the top land part 2. In the second annular body C2, each reinforcing fibre F2 is arranged at randam. This constitution prevents the occurrence of radial crack in the inner peripheral part of the first annular body and enables the inner wall of a ring to be provided with sufficient resistance to wear. |
