PURPOSE:To provide the title compsn. having excellent solvent resistance, dimensional stability and water absorbing properties, by blending a polyphenylene ether with a specified polymer and a polyamide. CONSTITUTION:A polyphenylene ether having epoxy groups at its terminals, obtd. by bringing a polyphenylene ether into contact with a compd. having an epoxy group is presence of an alkali under heating, is melt-kneaded with a polyamide to obtain a polymer (B). 10-80%, pref. 20-70% (by weight; the same applies hereinbelow) polyphenylene ether (A) having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.15-0.65 (in chloroform at 30 deg.C) is blended with 80-2%, pref. 70-8% component B, 10-80%, pref. 20-70% polyamide (C) having a relative viscosity of 1.5-6.5 (in 98% sulfuric acid soln. according to JIS K-6810) and optionally, an antioxidant, a plasticizer, a flame retardant (aid), a colorant, etc. (D). The mixture is melt-kneaded at 240-350 deg.C.
