PURPOSE:To increase the refractive index and to improve the resistance to wear and heat and heat-curability, by adding a specified amount of a niobium substance to a diethylene glycol bis(allyl carbonate) resin. CONSTITUTION:0.05-3wt% niobium substance contg. niobium (Nb) is added to a diethylene glycol bis(allyl carbonate) resin. The mixture is molten to form the desired product. As the niobium substance, niobium as well as niobium compds. and niobium intermetallic compds. can be used. Examples thereof are niobium carbide (NbC), niobium nitride (NbN), lithium niobate (LiNbO2), niobium pentoxide (Nb2O5), niobium silicide (Nb3Si), aluminized niobium (Nb3Al), etc.
