PURPOSE:To form a pressed article having excellent concentricity free from burr, by constituting an upper mold and a lower mold capable of slidably being assembled in a barrel mold, setting a feed opening for softened material and a pressed article outlet at the side of the barrel mold and a cooling gas blowing nozzle at the lower part of the barrel mold. CONSTITUTION:An upper mold 6 and a lower mold 5 are constructed slidably in a barrel mold 1. A softened material 2 heated to a temperature exceeding the softening temperature required for molding is fed from a softened material feed opening 1a set at the side of the barrel mold 1 to the lower mold 5; the upper mold 6 is lowered; the softened material 2 is pressed; and a pressed article 7 is molded. Then the upper mold 6 is raised and cooling gas is introduced from a cooling gas blowing nozzle 1d set at the lower part of the barrel mold 1 to cool the lower mold 5. Then the pressed article 7 is taken out from a pressed article outlet 1b set at the side of the barrel mold 1 by a molded article taking out device 8.
