PURPOSE:To enable the assembling of a panel and a shadow mask by projecting panel pins on the four side edge parts inside a panel and making the panel pins engage with fitting holes of mask holders which are installed on the four side edge parts outside a mask frame. CONSTITUTION:A panel is centered by an unillustrated panel positioning mechanism, and the positioned panel P is carried exactly over a mask positioning mechanism 2 by an unillustrated absorption head. Then a shadow mask M positioned in this mechanism 2 is covered with the panel P. In this covering state of the panel P, each panel pin PP is made to face each throttled mask holder H. When a driving part 23 is rotated reversely at the fixed amount and when each holder pawl 16 together with each sliding matter 10 is moved outwards separately from a center part S, the fixed throttling amount of the mask holder H is released. Thus, holder holes HH of mask holders H are made to engage with panel pins PP by elasticity of the mask holders H, so that the panel P can be assembled with the shadow mask M.
