The unit allows wireless telephone communications with a base station. It comprises a baseband processor 22 coupled to a storage means 32 and to a motor processor 40. The latter acts as pilot. The signal from the modem processor is transformed into an analog signal which after processing forms an IF signal later amplified. The amplified signal is combined with a signal produced by a synthesiser 72 to give a RF wire. On the basis of certain signals coming from the base station, the baseband processor produces signals determining whether the subscriber unit will be in the transmission or reception mode. <IMAGE>
