The invention relates to a protection system for a tie during meals which serves as an advertising support. It consists of a thin plastic sheet 1 in the form of a diagram of a knotted tie. This sheet is sub-divided into two parts, a top part 1a and a bottom part 1c, 1d which are provided, on their rear face, with an open semi-rigid ring 3, adhesively bonded at their join 1b and with a loop 4 retaining the sections of the tie. <IMAGE>
