PURPOSE:To wind up a thick elastic sheet efficiently and uniformly by winding up said elastic sheet while pressing both side parts of the end of said elastic sheet against a winding core with holding members, holding said elastic sheet at the center part of said winding core while winding it, and retracting said holding members when said elastic sheet is wound up by defined layers. CONSTITUTION:A sheet 2 is placed on a conveyor belt 3 and a driving roller 4 is driven in the arrow direction. As the end of the sheet 2 is held between a winding core 11 and the driving roller 4 while being detected by a sheet position detecting sensor 20, holding members 21 are rotated in the arrow direction while pressing both sides of the end of the sheet 2 against the winding core 11. And, right before the end part of the sheet 2 enters between the root of the sheet 2 and the winding core 11, a sheet retainer board 23 presses the center part of the end of the sheet 2 against the winding core 11, to wind in the end part. After the sheet 2 is wound up by defined layers, the sheet retainer board 23 is separated from the sheet 2 and the holding members 21 are retracted. Thus, the end of the sheet can be wound up without being bent, thereby, enabling the stable production of products.
