PURPOSE:To simplify a mechanism for adjusting roll crowns by setting the eccentric centers of eccentric bushings for supporting the respective rolls of a pair of split back up rolls asymmetrically with the centers of supporting shafts and turning the eccentric bushings in the same direction, thereby moving the respective rolls upward or downward. CONSTITUTION:Driving levers 26b, 26c are turned to turn the eccentric bushing 16b or 16c by a prescribed angle with a lever 24. Quarter rolls 6b and side rolls 6c are respectively moved upward or downward to form a desired crown pattern in the axial direction of the roll together with the center roll 6a fixed at the center. A frame 36 is then moved in a vertical direction and the work roll 2 is pressed via an intermediate roll 4, by which the roll crown thereof is adjusted. |
