PURPOSE:To make it possible to grind the end surface of a ferrule highly accurately, by holding a sleeve in which the ferrule is inserted and held contacting to the center of a globe group at the upper side and to the center of a globe group at the lower side, both of which are held in a housing contacting each other. CONSTITUTION:A ferrule 4 used for a photoconductor and the like is inserted in sleeve 15, held projecting a little from the lower end surface of a housing tube body 13, and contacted to a grinding paper 5. And by moving this grinding jig along the grinding paper 5, the position of the ferrule 4 is never displaced, and the angle between the ferrule 4 and the grinding paper 5 is kept at 90 deg., because the sleeve 15 in which the ferrule 4 is inserted is contacted to and held by the lower side and the upper side three globes 11 and 12, which are enclosed inside by the tube body 13 and its lid 14. Since the lower side globes 11 are rotated point-contacting to the grinding paper 5, the jig can move smoothly. In such a way, the end surface of the ferrule can be ground at a high accuracy and easily. |
