PURPOSE:To reduce noise at the time of the sliding travel of a carriage, and to prevent the disengagement of a lead plate from a lead screw by arranging the lead plate, which is made to have a required elasticity in the direction of the sliding travel of the carriage, on the carriage. CONSTITUTION:The lead plate 8, as a drive converting means to make the carriage 2 slide and travel by engaging with the lead groove 1a of the lead screw 1, is fixed on the carriage 2 by a screw 9. The lead plate 8, which has the required elasticity in the direction of the sliding travel of the carriage 2, i.e. in the direction of an arrow mark C, vibrates in the direction of the sliding travel of the carriage 2, but it absorbs the vibration by its own elasticity, when a step motor 6, i.e. the lead screw 1, performs a steep perturvative rotation. Then, the transmission of the vibration to the carriage 2 fixing the lead plate 8 is suppressed, and the carriage 2 slides and travels smoothly. Thus, the noise at the time of the sliding travel of the carriage 2 can be reduced.
