PURPOSE:To improve the recovery rate of the quantity of heat and to increase the possibility of utilization of the quantity of recovered heat by using a shell and tube type heat exchangers made of special corrosion-proof material and utilizing the retaining heat of a circulating medium in the heat exchangers. CONSTITUTION:The title plant comprises suction towers 1 and 2, tubes 3 and 4, sulfuric acid tanks 7 and 8, sulfuric acid pumps 9 and 10, a cooling water pump 11, sulfuric acid pumps 21 and 22, and heat exchangers 23 and 24. The heat exchangers 23 and 24 are shell and tube type heat exchangers made of a special corrosion-proof material, and having a small size and a high heat recovery rate. In this case, concentrated sulfuric acid emitted from the suction towers 1 and 2 are sent to the heat exchangers 23 and 24 by means of pumps 21 and 22 and returned to the tanks 7 and 8, a part of the concentrated sulfuric acid being used for products and another part being again returned to the suction towers. By these procedures, the recovery rate of the quantity of heat can be improved, the level of the recovering temperature can be raised and the possibility of utilization of recovering quantity also can be increased.
