PURPOSE:To reduce the printing cost of the titled device by scanning optically an original manuscript, and by inputting the obtd. signal into a color converting means, thereby converting said signal to binarized image forming signals of each plural colors, followed by forming an image by an ink jet printer. CONSTITUTION:The original manuscript is scanned by an illuminating lamp 12, followed by imaging a reflected light to a photoelectric converter 13. The cyan, green and yellow signals are separated by the photoelectric converter 13. Said signal is digitized 91 and is sent to a resolution converter 92, followed by converting said signal so as to accord with the resolution of the photoelectric transfer 13 and that of a thermal head 31. Next, the signals of each colors are arithmetrically processed separation 85, etc. Subsequently, the signal is inputted to a color signal converting circuit 87, and is effected a color conversion about, the luminance and the chromatic aberration of respective colors, and is converted to a binarization signal by a binarization circuit 88. The printing signal is sent to the thermal head 31 based on the binarization signal, and the image is formed on a recording paper by the ink jet printer 101. Accordingly, as the each scanned color signals are converted to image forming signals of the luminance and the chromatic aberration, etc., the printing cost of an offset printing is reduced.
