PURPOSE:To report errors to a host unit with respect to a write instruction while being affected by oscillation due to runaway by providing a runaway detection part in accordance with respective head positioning means and causing one control part to return the errors with respect to the write instruction from the host unit for a prescribed time when the other part detects runaway. CONSTITUTION:The runaway detection parts 4a and 4b are provided in accordance with respective head positioning parts 2a and 2b, and they detect these runaway. A runaway detection output is given to the control part of other system. Respective control parts 3a and 3b can control for assuring the normal write action of a self system against the runaway of the system except for the self system. Namely, the errors are compulsorily informed to the host unit with respect to the write instruction of the self system for a time when oscillation which occurs by shock due to runaway is settled. Thus, the host unit executes a widely-known retrial by error information. The errors are informed to the retrial and the retrial is repeatedly executed before a prescribed time passes. Then the normal retrial action by the retrial is executed if the oscillation due to runaway is settled.
