PURPOSE:To prevent the deviation of position of a printed board by clipping the printed board with an optical element held thereupon between a printed board retainer and an optical pickup main body and fixing the board tentatively and then fixing it by solder after the adjustment of mount position. CONSTITUTION:The printed circuit board 13 with a photodetector 11 mounted thereupon is supported adjustably in its position by fixing the printed board retainer 14 to the optical pickup main body 12 by a screw 15. Thus, a retainer 14a capable of being deformed elastically to be depressed to the main body 12 to the retainer 14 in press contact with a metallic part 13a of the board 13. After the mount position of the element 11 onto the main body 12 is adjusted in this state, the metallic part 13a and the retainer 14a are fixed by solder. The retainer 14 is fixed to the main body 12 by the screw 15 in this way to fix the board 13 tentatively to the main body1 2 and fixed by solder while the mount position is adjusted. Thus, no undesired force is exerted to the printed board and the deviation of position is prevented.
