PURPOSE:To eliminate the staining of the front end part of recording paper by applying a shock to a recording paper peeling finger when a separating means separates the recording paper peeling finger from a recording paper peeling surface. CONSTITUTION:When recording paper passes a detach corotron 9, a control part 20 turns on a solenoid 21 to project a plunger 25. Consequently, an arm 28 rotates clockwise to lower the notched part 10a of the peeling finger 10, its front end contacts a photosensitive drum 5, and the recording paper is peeled from the drum 5 by the peeling finger 10 and carried to a fixing roll 16. When the tail end of the recording paper passes the tip of the peeling finger 10, the control part 20 turns off the solenoid 21 and the plunger 25 returns to its back position. Then, the arm 28 rotates counterclockwise around a pivot point 27 as its center to elevate the notched part 10a of the separation finger 10 and collides against a stopper 30 to receive a shock of prescribed force. Consequently, the peeling finger 10 leaves the surface of the drum 5 as shown by a dotted line and also receives the shock at the same time to shake down sticking toner.
